3 Things to Know About Morton College Alumni Relations

While the role of Director of Development & Alumni Relations for Morton College is in its infancy, it has taken off with much success, even during the pandemic.   Director Sally Delgado has kicked off a fun and exciting program of Fall events for Morton College Alumni and Friends, and is inviting the public to join in the fun.   Here are 3 things to know about Morton College Alumni Relations:

1.   The office is building its Institutional Advancement web page to provide the most current information for alumni and the public.   “You can sign up for events, purchase alumni apparel, make donations, read about alumni success stories, and discover a host of great engagement opportunities at your fingertips,” explained Delgado.   “We hosted an alumni career panel in September, and we’re celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in October.   November will feature our #Giving Tuesday Challenge, where we challenge everyone to donate $20.20 to support new and current student clubs and organizations.   We’ll also host a Holiday Breakfast for Alumni and Friends on December 4th.”

2.   MC’s Alumni Relations office was able to take quick action and develop its first virtual fundraiser to support students impacted by Covid-19.   “We raised over $10,000 and rallied lots of alumni support to make this a success,” added Delgado.   “Our alumni play an integral role at Morton College; they serve as ambassadors of our brand and as role models for students in pursuit of a program degree.   Our college profile consists of a large percentage of first-generation students, so being an alum of Morton College is a badge of honor.   The college years shared here at MC represent a cathartic experience of social, cultural, and intellectual growth which shapes our students’ identities.”

3.   The Morton College Alumni Relations office is always seeking alumni volunteers for speaking engagements, events, and support for efforts involving other alumni.   If interested, please contact Sally Delgado at sally.delgado@morton.edu.
