DuPage County reports 822 cases Saturday, 6 deaths, region's positivity rate rises to 14.8%

The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 822 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 6 deaths: 1 woman in her 70s, 2 men in their 70s, 1 woman in her 80s, 1 man in his 80s and 1 woman in her 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 37,588 coronavirus cases including 678 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of November 10 was 96.6%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen six days of positivity increases and four days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased from 14.6% to 14.8%. Currently, 17% of medical/surgical beds are available and 23% of ICU beds. Within this region, Kane County's seven-day positivity average is at 17.1%, and DuPage County is at 13.5%.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 11,891 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 127 additional deaths Saturday, the fourth straight day with more than 100 deaths reported.

By town, Wheaton has had 1,911 total cases, Glen Ellyn 1,369, Lombard 1,861, Villa Park 1,115, Hinsdale 586, Westmont 967, Darien 744, Woodridge 1,221, Downers Grove 1,644, Elmhurst 1,889, Warrenville 589 and Winfield 443. Addison has had 2,464 confirmed cases, Naperville 3,043, Carol Stream 2,034 and West Chicago 2,229.

The health department provides further information on its data dashboard for COVID-19-related hospitalizations, deaths, lab positivity and outbreak-associated counts by municipality. This additional information replaces the information that was previously provided daily in this format.
