The DuPage County Health Department on Wednesday reported a single-day record 937 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 2 deaths, 2 men in their 90s.
The county now has seen a total of 35,664 coronavirus cases including 661 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of November 10 was 96.6%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen eight days of positivity increases and four days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate decreased to 15.3%. Currently, 23% of medical/surgical beds are available and 33% of ICU beds.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 8,922 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 – the fewest cases since Nov. 4 – and 140 additional deaths Wednesday.
By town, Wheaton has had 1,770 total cases, Glen Ellyn 1,280, Lombard 1,678, Villa Park 1,028, Hinsdale 558, Westmont 921, Darien 686, Woodridge 1,113, Downers Grove 1,497, Elmhurst 1,756, Warrenville 549 and Winfield 412. Addison has had 2,325 confirmed cases, Naperville 2,818, Carol Stream 1,868 and West Chicago 2,093.
