The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 156 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with one death, a man in his 60s.
The county now has seen a total of 22,495 coronavirus cases including 607 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 6 was 96.0%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen seven days of positivity increases and eight days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased from 9.2% to 9.5%, still well above the state's threshold of 8%. Currently, 27% of medical/surgical beds are available and 39% of ICU beds.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,729 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 17 additional deaths Monday.
By town, Wheaton has had 985 total cases, Glen Ellyn 773, Lombard 1,110, Villa Park 662, Hinsdale 409, Westmont 667, Darien 417, Downers Grove 950, Elmhurst 1,171, Warrenville 333 and Winfield 208. Addison has had 1,613 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,711, Carol Stream 1,245 and West Chicago 1,386.
