The DuPage County Health Department on Thursday reported 106 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with two deaths, a man in his 40s and a women in her 80s.
The county now has seen a total of 21,670 coronavirus cases including 605 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 6 was 96.0%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen nine days of positivity increases and six days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate stayed flat at 9.4%, well above the state's threshold of 8%, but ending a 15-day streak of positivity increases. Currently, 25% of medical/surgical beds are available and 41% of ICU beds.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,874 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 31 additional deaths Friday.
By town, Wheaton has had 933 total cases, Glen Ellyn 735, Lombard 1,061, Villa Park 629, Hinsdale 399, Westmont 650, Darien 407, Downers Grove 919, Elmhurst 1,140, Warrenville 313 and Winfield 198. Addison has had 1,545 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,615, Carol Stream 1,170 and West Chicago 1,348.
