The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 209 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, with two deaths, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 70s.
The county now has seen a total of 20,445 coronavirus cases including 596 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of October 6 was 96.0%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 10 days of positivity increases – meeting one criteria for stricter mitigation measures – and five days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate increased from 7.4% to 7.9%. Currently, 29% of medical/surgical beds and 41% of ICU beds are available.
Within this region, Kane County's rolling seven-day positivity average jumped nearly a full percentage point once again and is now 9.9%.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 3,629 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 27 additional deaths Saturday.
By town, Wheaton has had 871 total cases, Glen Ellyn 680, Lombard 1,005, Villa Park 586, Hinsdale 384, Westmont 631, Darien 375, Downers Grove 865, Elmhurst 1,084, Warrenville 293 and Winfield 179. Addison has had 1,464 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,515, Carol Stream 1,111 and West Chicago 1,286.
