The DuPage County Health Department on Sunday reported 84 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, and two deaths, a man in his 60s and a man in his 70s.
The county now has seen a total of 17,435 coronavirus cases including 560 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of September 22 was 95.7%.
The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen two days of positivity increases and three days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate remained flat at 5.3%. Currently, 28% of medical/surgical beds are available and 39% of ICU beds.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,604 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 14 additional deaths Sunday. The seven-day rolling average of Illinois’ positivity rate increased slightly to 3.7%.
By town, Wheaton has had 747 total cases, Glen Ellyn 554, Lombard 846, Villa Park 494, Hinsdale 347, Westmont 566, Darien 317, Downers Grove 696, Elmhurst 880, Warrenville 253 and Winfield 158. Addison has had 1,271 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,271, Carol Stream 916 and West Chicago 1,152.
