DuPage County reports 118 new COVID-19 cases Friday, 4 deaths

The DuPage County Health Department on Friday reported 118 new cases of COVID-19 in the county, and four deaths, two women in their 90s, a man in his 70s and a man in his 40s.

The county now has seen a total of 17,135 coronavirus cases including 557 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of September 15 was 95.5%.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen one day of positivity increases and one days of hospital admission increases, a decrease in both metrics. The region's positivity rate decreased to 5.3%. Currently, 27% of medical/surgical beds are available and 38% of ICU beds.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,514 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25 additional deaths Friday.

By town, Wheaton has had 730 total cases, Glen Ellyn 537, Lombard 825, Villa Park 482, Hinsdale 340, Westmont 560, Darien 308, Downers Grove 671, Elmhurst 821, Warrenville 247 and Winfield 154. Addison has had 1,227 confirmed cases, Naperville 1,251, Carol Stream 901 and West Chicago 1,134.

The health department provides further information on its data dashboard for COVID-19-related hospitalizations, deaths, lab positivity and outbreak-associated counts by municipality. This additional information replaces the information that was previously provided daily in this format.
