The 16th Street Theater hosts "Divercity" by Tellin’ Tales Theatre, directed by its artistic director and Elmhurst native Tekki Lomnicki, who was on 16th Street’s stage in 2009 when she performed her autobiographical show titled "Blurred Vision."

Tellin’ Tales Theatre plants the seeds of acceptance through story in "Divercity," in shows running virtually through Aug. 9. Stories range from hilarious to touching and everything in between, a news release stated. All of the performers have disabilities and hail from all corners of the city and suburbs.

How was this show created? To further Tellin’ Tales Theatre’s mission of shattering barriers between the disabled and non-disabled worlds, Tellin’ Tales invites adult solo performers with disabilities to write and perform their original stories. Connections are made when audiences see that the experiences of people with disabilities are similar to their own."

This show begins a partnership with Tellin' Tales Theatre and 16th Street. Learn more about Tellin' Tales here.
