DOWNERS GROVE - Someone in either the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 or Community High School District 99 community has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a letter written by District 99 Superintendent Hank Thiele and District 58 Superintendent Kevin Russell.
“The affected individual is not a staff member or a student,” according to the letter, which was posted Tuesday morning to the District 99 website. “We have been in contact with the DuPage County Health Department [DCHD], and they have identified that there is no increased risk to our students and staff, beyond the existing community spread.”
The letter did not specify which district with individual is associated with.
The DCHD is reporting, as of March 23, that there are a total of 95 cases identified across DuPage County, according to the letter.
"We anticipate the numbers will continue to increase over the coming days and weeks," the letter said. "You can locate additional information about COVID-19 on the DCHD’s website, www.dupagehealth.org/COVID19."
District 99 and District 58 will not continue to report any new cases beyond this initial report.
