Sen. Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign announced plans to open six offices in Illinois, including one in Joliet, ahead of the March 17 primary election.
The Joliet field office will be located at 1113 Plainfield Road, according to a campaign email.
There will be an office opening event that is free and open to the public on Friday at 7 p.m.
Tickets are not required, but an RSVP on the Sanders campaign website is encouraged.
While Hillary Clinton narrowly carried Illinois during the 2016 primary election, Sanders, I-Vermont, defeated her in Will County. He received about 52% of the vote.
Sanders is running for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president. His campaign is also opening offices in Chicago, Carbondale, Moline and Schaumburg.
