In 2007, Pierce took the reins from “Friendly Bob” Rolder, and he kept the old atmosphere while creating a fresh concept for the establishment. No longer just the Friendly Tap on Roosevelt, it’s the Friendly Music Community, an integration of three friendly services in Berwyn. The first is the Friendly Tap, a venue for live, local music several nights a week. The Friendly Coffee Lounge is located in the same space, and the Friendly School of Folk Music completes the Friendly Music Community.
