DOWNERS GROVE - It was good night for challengers in Downers Grove Grade School District 58.
Two newcomers were elected to four-year terms on the board. They were also the lead vote getters in the five-way race for three seats.
Emily Hanus and Steve Olczyk garnered 5,307 and 4,962 votes, respectively, while incumbent Kirat Doshi received 3,569 votes in his bid for election after being appointed to the board last year.
Incumbent Elizabeth Sigale picked up 3,424 votes followed by challenger Kylie Spahn who collected 3,197 votes, according to unofficial results.
In the two-way race for a two-year term on the board, incumbent Doug Purcell, the board president, lost to challenger Tracy Weiner.
