She has been a longtime yoga instructor through the Bloomingdale Park District, and currently offers a Tuesday evening program in hatha yoga, which she tailors to each student's ability level.
She said she shaped the book to give people a taste of what practices are available and what is most useful to them.
"It's to help people kick-start their journey," she said. "When you are practicing self-care in your own life, your kids notice [and] co-workers. [You can] be a light and inspiration for somebody else. Invest in yourself. Be the best for yourself, so you can be the best for everyone else."
The book, published by MSI Press, is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, msipress.com and some local bookstores.
