ELMHURST – With the issuance of the Elmhurst Park District's winter programs brochure comes an announcement that the first day of registration for programs has changed, beginning with this winter season's registration.
Based on feedback from residents, the park district decided to hold gymnastics registration on a separate day and time in an effort to reduce the high volume on the district's current software system, according to an Elmhurst Park District news release.
Winter program registration times are as follows: 8 a.m. Dec. 1 for gymnastics registration, 8 a.m. Dec. 8 for general programs and 8 a.m. Dec. 17 for non-resident registration, according to the park district's website. Communications and Content Editor Kassandra Collins said in an email Nov. 15 that Courts Plus members will also be able to register for programs at 8 a.m. Dec. 8.
“Conducting multiple days of registration is common practice for park districts but something we haven’t needed to do in Elmhurst,” Executive Director Jim Rogers said in the release. “But within the last year, it’s been made clear that our current software is no longer able to manage the large volume of registration we have. We’re hoping this change will help alleviate some of that burden on the system.”
The brochure also includes a 2019 Special Events Calendar, which lists all the free community events scheduled by the Park District for 2019, the release stated.
