"Sam is a very athletic guy," Walenga said. "In case the pocket collapses, we know he can run with it. It's really interesting to see him go."
Walenga doesn't know a ton about Batavia (11-0), but he is well aware of their linebackers. Michael Jansey, a Northwestern recruit and Luke Weerts, a North Dakota State commits, are marquee names off last year's title team. Junior Quinn Urwiler, also part of Batavia's backfield rotation, has had a hug year on both sides of the ball.
"They're a little bit bigger up front," Walenga said. "On the difficulty level, I would compare them to a Hinsdale Central, of the teams we've played. We have to come out hard on both sides of the ball, our O-line has to read what they're doing, understand their blitzes, pick anything up, have to give Sam time to make plays."
