Nazareth (8-1), like ICCP moving up a class, can say the same.
The Roadrunners have a host of guys who played in last year's Class 6A final with Prairie Ridge, guys like Michael Love and Devin Blakley, and added an ultra-talented quarterback in sophomore J.J. McCarthy.
The Roadrunners are seeded eighth in Class 7A, up from 6A, and host Andrew (6-3) in a first-round game.
"We feel good, regardless of who we are playing," Nazareth coach Tim Racki said. "We have so many kids that are experienced and that have been there before and are looking forward to getting to that second season."
Andrew, out of the tough Southwest Suburban, dropped its last two games of the season to playoff teams Homewood-Flossmoor and Lincoln-Way West. The program last won a playoff game in 2011.
Nazareth, potentially, could see a quarterfinal matchup with Simeon, and a semifinal with defending 7A champ Batavia.
"7A has been in our brains for a year now," Racki said. "Our kids have embraced it, been locked in. These guys have seen Providence on the road, Sacred Heart-Griffin on the road, we respect every opponent. We know nothing is guaranteed.
