ELMHURST – The Elmhurst Police Department will be collecting expired, unused or unwanted prescription drugs as part of a partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration for Prescription Take Back Day.
Police officers will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in the west parking lot of the police station, 125 W. First St., Elmhurst.
Police encourage residents to check their cabinets and dispose of unused medications that may put others at risk, according to an Elmhurst Police Department news release. Dangerous medications include opioid painkillers, stimulants and depressants.
No questions will be asked at the drop-off, the release stated. Those unable to drop off prescription drugs that day may drop them off anytime in the prescription drug collection box in the police station lobby.
