BERWYN – The Berwyn Historical Society will host its annual historical house tour, Bungalows and More, from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 30, showcasing homes in the Berwyn Depot District.

The house tour, now in its 12th year, will feature not only bungalows, but also homes of other styles, including Victorian and Foursquare, according to a historical society news release.

While viewing the exterior and interior of six homes, tour-goers will learn about each house’s history and architectural features. They also will see how vintage houses can be preserved and thoughtfully adapted for modern living, the release stated.

An exterior presentation on the former Berwyn State Bank will be included, as well as an opportunity for visitors to examine three recently painted building murals in the Depot District.

Advance tickets are available for $20 at Berwyn Ace Hardware, James and Williams Jewelers, the Oak Park Visitors Center and the Forest Park Emporium until closing Sept. 29. They also are available online at berwynbungalow.org until midnight Sept. 29.

Tickets also can be purchased for $25 the day of the tour at the check-in site, the Berwyn train depot at Oak Park and Windsor avenues.
