DOWNERS GROVE – Downers Grove North High School is celebrating its 2018 homecoming week, culminating with a parade and football game Sept. 28.
The parade kicks off at 3:15 p.m. and follows a new route starting at the corner of Prince and Grant streets, proceeding south on Prince Street to Chicago Avenue, west on Chicago Avenue to Linscott Avenue, north on Linscott Avenue to Grant Street and ending at Saratoga Avenue.
The game is against Oak Park High School and begins at 7:30 p.m. The sophomore game starts at 5 p.m. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for children. Seniors 65 and older and Community High School District 99 students with an ID are free. District 99 students without an ID pay $3.
Three Downers Grove North alumni will be honored during homecoming week: Marine Staff Sgt. Kristin Bowers, a professional clarinetist and member of the class of 2002; Dr. Christine Todd, a physician, humanitarian and member of the class of 1985; and Dr. Thomas Wascher, a neurosurgeon and member of the class of 1977.
The Alumni Award of Excellence program was designed to recognize graduates of Downers Grove North who have contributed in an exceptional manner to society, whether in the areas of science, government, community, humanitarianism, athletics or fine arts.
