WHEATON – Wheaton police continue to look for a man wanted for alleged domestic battery.
Police responded to the 1100 block of Hertford Court at about 7:30 a.m. July 9 for a domestic battery in which the alleged offender, Richard C. Tramble, fled from the residence, according to a news release from the city of Wheaton. Tramble has several extraditable warrants in addition to being wanted for domestic battery, the release stated.
Officers later observed the vehicle in which Tramble had fled the area attempting to return to the area, according to the release. Tramble was believed to have returned to the residence and barricaded himself in the attic, the release stated.
Police evacuated those inside the home and went into the attic but could not locate Tramble. Police believe he jumped out of an upstairs window prior to their arrival, the release stated.
The Wheaton Police Department issued reverse 911 calls in the immediate area to keep residents informed about this incident as it unfolded, according to the release. Police are urging those who see Tramble to call 911.
Tramble is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 110 pounds. He is not considered an immediate threat to the public, police said.
