Mady Carli, Glenbard South, senior, second baseman: Four-year starter hit .500 with a .593 on-base percentage. Carli, also a starter for the Glenbard South state basketball team, was an all-Metro Suburban Conference selection. The Arizona Christian commit stole 33 bases.Carlee Clark, St. Francis, junior, pitcher/first baseman: The GCAC White Player of the Year led Spartans to sectional finals. On the mound Clark went 10-1 with a 1.27 ERA and 93 strikeouts. At the plate she hit .525 with 12 homers, 45 RBIs and 35 runs scored [Sandy Bressner - email@example.com]Bri Clifton, Montini, senior, pitcher: Nicholls State recruit, a three-year starter, owns every single-season and career pitching record at Montini. This year she went 23-5 with 167 strikeouts. At the plate she hit .333 with five doubles, six homers, 31 runs scored and 46 RBIs. [Sandy Bressner - firstname.lastname@example.org]Nikki Cuchran, Montini, senior, third base: DePaul recruit is a finalist for the Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year, and repeat GCAC Red Player of the Year. Lefty slugger hit .702 with 19 doubles, 16 homers, 57 runs scored and 79 runs batted in for Class 3A state champs.Estelle Czech, Downers Grove North, sophomore, pitcher/first base: Also a standout pitcher for the Trojans, Czech at the plate hit .443 with a .494 on-base percentage, four homers, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored. [Sandy Bressner - email@example.com]Lauren Derkowski, York, freshman, pitcher: Already committed to Michigan, Derkowski was sensational in leading Dukes to state as she shut out Whitney Young, struck out 13 against Oak Park-River Forest and took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against St. Charles North. On the year she went 19-7 with a 1.72 ERA and 256 strikeouts in 159 innings.Madison Ebeling, Wheaton Academy, senior, shortstop: Loyola recruit and three-time All-Stater hit .526 with a .650 on-base percentage, two homers, three triples, six doubles and didn't strike out once. [Bill Ackerman for Shaw Media]Josie Lytton, IC Catholic Prep, senior, catcher: Aurora University commit was Metro Suburban Blue Player of the Year. Lytton hit 15 triples this year and had 43 career triples, both third highest in state history. She hit .629 this year with seven doubles, six homers, 48 RBIs, 43 runs – and didn't strike out once. [Jon Cunningham - For Shaw Media]Randi McKay, Downers Grove South, junior, pitcher second baseman/outfielder: Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit struck out 12 in one-hit shutout of Geneva in regional final. On the year McKay went 11-7 with a 2.04 ERA and 134 strikeouts in 113 innings. At the plate she hit .500 with 15 doubles, two homers, 29 RBIs and 29 runs scored.Kara McKenna, Downers Grove South, senior, third baseman: McKenna, who will play collegiately at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, helped lead the Mustangs to their fifth regional title in six seasons. She hit .473 with 11 doubles, eight homers, 35 RBIs and 33 runs.Kacie Vlach, Wheaton Warrenville South, senior, pitcher: The DuPage Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year and a unanimous all-conference selection. Vlach went 14-5 with a 2.19 ERA and 186 strikeouts over 131 innings pitched.
