Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the front end of a Porsche Cayenne in flames just east of the intersection. The fire started near the vehicle's engine and quickly moved into the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Oak Brook Fire Department Battalion Chief Gary Clark said a woman was driving the SUV when the fire started and that she was able to escape unharmed. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames using water from one of the village's fire engines.

Police briefly closed 31st Street between Meyers and Midwest road. The street was re-opened after the fire was out.
