To the editor:
For the first time in 10 years, residents of Clarendon Hills will have a choice for their village representatives. And with that, the Voice For Clarendon Hills slate ([Eric] Stach, [John] Jasper, [Andy]Schmidt and [Maureen] Kevin) is clearly the best choice for [the] Village Board.
Current Village Board member Eric Stach is a candidate for village president. In fact, [he] is the only candidate on the ballot with Village Board experience. Combine that with [Stach] being an attorney who specializes in local government and [he] is a great choice for president.
[Stach] has been the only trustee who was able to point [to] where our Village Board was not in compliance with ordinances saving the village from potential legal issues and embarrassment. He has a proven record of being a fiscal conservative, great listener and always willing to embrace alternative points of view from fellow board members and residents.
During his time on the board, [Stach] has:
Opposed arbitrary property tax and fee increases always insisting we can do better; initiated amending the Zoning Code to increase public awareness; requested an alignment of fiscal and levy years to address property taxes and budgeting simultaneously; challenged street resurfacing where staff ratings said “not needed,” saving money; restored the Pledge of Allegiance at board meetings; sought creation of a Blue Ribbon Special Budget Review Committee.
We should all be glad there is a choice on April 7. Please vote for the Voice team of Eric Stach, John Jasper, Andy Schmidt and Maureen Kevin – they are the right choice for Clarendon Hills.
