After years of success coaching at the sophomore level, Jay Baum takes over the Downers South varsity squad with hopes that depth and size can produce big results.
“We have a lot of talent,” Baum said. “We could go eight to 12 guys deep.”

Tyler Pierce’s massive presence on the court and in the scorebook will have to be replaced, but a backcourt of Jake Lechelt and Erik Andrews gives Westmont literally guarded optimism over another great season.

Aaron Nagel was a linebacker at Notre Dame, one of college football’s Holy Grails, but he wasn’t happy. The Lemont graduate did not like the Fighting Irish’s coaches. They weren’t the kind of people he thought they would be back when he committed to play football there. He wanted something different. That’s when he rediscovered his youth.
