DUI alleged

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 8:30 p.m. July 17 at Kenyon and Webster streets.

Police said Thomas G. Nykiel, 53, 5244 Blodgett Ave., Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and speeding.

Car reported burglarized

Police said a car parked in the 600 block of Ogden Avenue was burglarized between 4:30 and 4:45 p.m. July 17. Police said the front passenger side window was broken and a purse was missing. The damage is $500. The loss is estimated at $754.

Man charged with DUI

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 1 a.m. July 17 in the 5700 block of Dearborn Parkway.

Police said Adam M. Wanezek, 23, 673 61st St., Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Purse reported missing

Police said a woman reported that her purse was taken from Dominick’s, 42 Ogden Ave., between noon and 1 p.m. July 18. Police said the woman forgot the purse in a shopping cart and when she returned to the grocery store it was gone. The loss is estimated at $137.

GPS taken from car

Police said a car parked at X-Sport Fitness, 3200 Finley Road, was burglarized between 3 and 4:15 p.m. July 18.

Police said the front passenger side window was shattered. Items missing include a cell phone, purse and navigation unit. The damage is $200 and the loss is estimated at $450.

DUI alleged

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 2:15 a.m. July 18 at Highland Avenue and Barneswood Drive.

Police said Kevin T. Ryan, 39, 6823 Kincaid Drive, Woodridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and speeding.

Man faces DUI charge

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 12:45 a.m. July 19 at Woodward Avenue and Prentiss Drive.

Police said James C. Pieroni, 30, 6913 Prairieview Ave., Woodridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and violation of a license classification.

Laptops reported missing

Police said a car parked in the 5300 block of Meadow Lane was burglarized between midnight and 6 a.m. July 19.

Police said several electronics including two laptop computers, a radar detector and a navigation unit were missing, among other items. The loss is estimated at $4,390.

Police make DUI stop

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 9 p.m. July 20 in the 6400 block of Woodward Avenue.

Police said Benjamin Marquez, 44, 2215 Prentiss Drive, Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage.

Business reports damage

Police said three to four minors were seen walking through the parking lot of Adams-Winterfield and Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., at about 10:30 p.m. July 20 with a large branch.

Police said the minors were swinging the branch around and broke a light in the parking lot.

Police said the minors left the parking lot. The damage is estimated at $100.

Bike reported missing

Police said a bicycle was reported missing between 7 a.m. July 20 and 9 a.m. July 21 in the 200 block of Second Street. Police said the bike is a red, Trek 10-speed. It is valued at $250.

Car reported burglarized

Police said a car was burglarized between 7 p.m. July 20 and 7 a.m. July 21 while parked in the 6300 block of Wells Street. Police said items missing include an iPod and accessories. The loss is estimated at $210.

Bike reported missing

Police said a mountain bicycle was reported missing around 8:30 p.m. July 20 in the 6700 block of Saratoga Avenue. Police said the bike is a 26-inch men’s bike in blue, silver and red. It is valued at $270.

Woodridge

Gas thefts reported

Police said $28.70 worth of gas was stolen at about 1:30 p.m. July 20 at Thorntons gas station, 2401 63rd St. At about 12:30 p.m. July 19, a driver pumped $44.52 worth of gas and left without paying at Thorntons, police said.

Bikes reported stolen

Two children’s bikes were stolen from a backyard between 10 a.m. and about 7:30 p.m. July 19 in the 7900 block of Woodridge Drive, police said.

Home reported burglarized

Police said a laptop computer, iPhone, xBox gaming system and three video games, together valued at $2,900, were stolen at about 1 a.m. July 19 in the 6700 block of Lakeview Court. Reports state no forced entry to the home was observed, and the case remains under investigation.

GPS taken from car

Two cars were burglarized at about 12:45 p.m. July 19 while parked in the 6500 block of Greene Road, police said. Reports state items removed from one vehicle included about $10 in change and a global positioning system unit. Change and two credit cards were removed from a second car, police said.

DUI charges filed
Robin Wissler, 39, 7634 Sprucewood Ave., Woodridge was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the life of a child and failure to reduce speed after being arrested at about 11:30 p.m. July 18 in the 3000 block of Everglade Avenue, police said.

Kerri Apostle, 35, of Romeoville was charged with two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage after being pulled over at about 4 a.m. July 18 in the 8100 block of Woodward Avenue, police said.

Clifford Eaton, 27, 2263 Country Club Lane, Woodridge was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 2:30 a.m. July 16 near the intersection of 75th Street and Woodward Avenue, police said.

Laptop stolen from car

A laptop was taken from a car between 1 and about 1:15 p.m. July 18 while parked in the 2100 block of Internationale Parkway, police said.

Car windshield damaged

Police said a brick was thrown through the front windshield of a parked vehicle at about 2:30 p.m. July 15 in the 8000 block of Chelsea Lane, police said.
