Charges filed in four cases of retail theft
Police charged four people with retail theft between June 16 and 18 in Bolingbrook, according to police reports.
Shante Fudge, 17, 358-B Whitewater Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with retail theft at 6:15 p.m. June 18 after police were called to Kohl’s, 1138 W. Boughton Road, for reports of a theft, police said.
Deandre Bowman, 17, 120 Edgehill Drive, Bolingbrook, and a 14-year-old Bolingbrook male were charged with retail theft at 3 p.m., June 17 after police were called to Best Buy, 315 N. Weber Road, for reports of a retail theft, according to police reports.
Ellis Lyles, 18, 221-A Cherokee Lane, Bolingbrook, was charged with retail theft and obstructing justice at 8:30 p.m. June 16 following a traffic stop in near Schmidt Road and Old Stone Road, police said.
Police search for man who stole liquor
Bolingbrook police continue to search for a man who reportedly placed six bottles of alcohol — four bottles of whiskey and two bottles of vodka — into a shopping cart at about 7 p.m. June 15 at Jewel/Osco, 1200 W. Boughton Road, and then pushed the cart to a car in the store’s parking lot and drove off without paying. The value of the liquor was estimated at $180, police said.
Six face charges of driving under influence
Six motorists were charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in separate incidents between June 19 and June 21 in Bolingbrook.
Esteban Vergara, 29, 228-B Apache Court, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, no driver’s license and leaving the scene of an accident at 8:45 p.m. June 21 in the 200 block of Apache Court, police said.
Rafael Alberto Garcia, 23, of Joliet was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, speeding and driving without a license at about 7:30 p.m. June 21 near Boughton Road and Delaware Drive, according to police reports.
Orlando Cruz, 43, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal lane usage at 2 a.m. June 21 in the 200 block of South Bolingbook Drive, police said.
James Hedman, 46, of Elmhurst was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to signal at 2:30 p.m. June 21 at Weber Road and Carlow Drive, police said.
Javier Najera, 42, 273 Edgehill Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal lane usage at 2 a.m. June 21 in the 200 block of Illinois Route 53, according to police reports.
Roberto Vazquez-Salazar, 38, of Chicago was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage, no driver’s license and no insurance at 7:45 p.m. June 19 in the 200 block of South Bolingbrook Drive, police said.
Naperville man faces assault charges
Kash Hobbs, 42, 1160 Cresthaven Lane, Naperville, was charged with assault and driving with a revoked license at 12:15 a.m. June 16 following a traffic stop in the 200 block of Seneca Way, police said.
Theft from vehicle
A navigation system, radar detector, baseball bat, sunglasses and CDs and DVDs valued at $1,300 were reported taken from a locked vehicle sometime June 12 in the 600 block of Glenwood Drive, according to police reports.
Police investigate three cases of vandalism
Bolingbrook police continue to investigate three cases of vandalism that occurred between June 12 and June 17 in Bolingbrook.
After 11:30 p.m. June 17, someone spray painted garage doors and a fence in the Fernwood Drive area, police said.
Between 10 a.m. and midnight June 14, a rock was thrown through a window of a residence in the 300 block of Palmer Drive, according to police reports.
After 10 p.m. June 12, someone spray painted an 8-foot section of fence in the 500 block of Bluebird Drive, police said.
Tools stolen from home
A drill, circular saw and a tool bag containing various tools were stolen from a home between June 12 and June 14 in the 600 block of North Ashbury Avenue. The items were valued at more than $800, police said. Walls of the home were damaged with markers.
