Car burglarized

Police said a car parked at Bristol Club Apartments was burglarized between 6 p.m. April 2 and 6:30 a.m. April 3 in the 5600 block of Walnut Avenue.

Police said a driver’s side window was broken out and electronics including a dash radio, amplifier, speakers and a car owner’s manual were missing. The loss is estimated at $900.

Car reported vandalized

Police said a car parked in the 600 block of 67th Street was vandalized between 9 and 11:30 p.m. April 18.

Police said three windows along the driver’s side of the car were smashed and there was glass inside and outside the car. Damage is estimated at $500.

Teen charged with DUI

A teen was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 12:30 a.m. April 22 at Fairview Avenue and Grant Street.

Michael E. Chambers, 17, of Oak Brook, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle, police said.

GPS unit stolen

Police said a car was burglarized between 5:30 p.m. April 24 and 5:15 p.m. April 25 in the 7300 block of Baybury Road. Police said a navigation unit was missing. The loss is estimated at $200.

Car reported damaged

Police said a car was damaged between 8 p.m. April 25 and 10:30 a.m. April 26 in the 4700 block of Washington Street.

Police said the car’s windshield was shattered and the roof had several dents. Police said the driver’s side mirror was cracked. Damage is estimated at $850.

Man charged with DUI

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 1:30 a.m. April 26 at 63rd Street and Fairview Avenue.

Police said Jose J. Torres, 29, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper turn and improper lane usage.

Window reported broken

Police said a car was vandalized between 1 and 8:30 a.m. April 26 while parked in the 6700 block of Powell Street. Police said a window on a limousine was broken. Damage is estimated at $500.

Man charged with theft

Police said a man allegedly attempted to steal an A/C adapter from Fry’s Electronics, 3300 Finley Road, at 11:15 a.m. April 28.

Police said Kyle D. Kanter, 23, Oak Ridge, cut the packaging open with a pocket knife and placed the item into a pocket of his sweatshirt.

Police said Kanter passed the point of sale and was stopped by security. Kanter was charged with retail theft.

Car burglarized

Police said a car parked in the 0 to 100 block of Elizabeth Lane was burglarized between midnight and 8:30 a.m.

Police said a passenger side window was broken and a radar detector was missing from the dashboard. Damage is estimated at $150 and the loss is about $400.

WESTMONT

Battery alleged

Luis Reyes, 24, of Wood Dale, was charged with domestic battery, two counts of damage to property and criminal damage to state supported property after being arrested at about 11:30 p.m. April 30 in the 3500 block of Midwest Road.

According to police, Reyes allegedly punched a person, damaged two vehicles and damaged the window of a Westmont police car.

IPod reported taken

Police said a $200 iPod was taken from a car overnight April 25 in the 1000 block of Williamsburg Drive. Entry was gained after a car window was broken, police said.

Man faces drug charge

Christopher Galdells, 35, of Romeoville, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and other traffic violations after being arrested at about 7:15 p.m. April 27 in the 200 block of Healy Ave., police said.

Man faces firearm charge

Shamalbhalk Patel, 56, of Romeoville, was charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a FOID card.
Police said Patel allegedly struck a person and threatened the victim with a weapon. The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. April 26 in the 600 block of North Cass Avenue, police said.

WOODRIDGE

Radio stolen from car

A car radio was taken at about 2:30 a.m. April 25 in the 2500 block of Spring Street, police said.

Garage damaged

A garage was damaged with a golf ball at about 2:45 p.m. April 25 in the 7600 block of Sprucewood Avenue, police said.

Car break-ins attempted

An attempted car burglary occurred at about 3 a.m. April 25 in the 2500 block of Spring Street, police said. No entry was gained into the car.

Someone attempted to break into a vehicle at about 2:45 a.m. April 25 in the 8100 block of Waterbury Drive, police said. No entry was gained into the car.

Windows smashed

A car window was broken with a brick at about midnight April 24 in the 2500 block of Stonewall Avenue, police said.

Jewelry missing

An undisclosed amount of jewelry was stolen between 7 a.m. and about 1:45 p.m. April 23 in the 1700 block of Tower Hill Drive, police said.

Car vandalized

Police said a car was keyed at about 10 p.m. April 22 in the 6500 block of Route 53, police said.
