Eight charged in Fernwood fight

Eight Bolingbrook residents were charged with various offenses stemming from a fight in Fernwood Dec. 7, according to Bolingbrook police.

The fight occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Dec. 7 in the area of Lot P, Fernwood Drive, police said.

According to Bolingbrook police, those facing charges include JessyZuno, 21, 31 V Fernwood Drive, for mob action, battery and unlawful use of a weapon; Lewis Lopez, 21, 253 Jameson Court, for mob action and unlawful use of a weapon; Cesar Maximillano, 19, 219 Malibu Drive, for mob action and aggravated battery; Arturo Garcia, 18, 207 LaFayette Drive, for mob action and battery; Franco Blanco, 18, 7 H Fernwood Drive, for mob action and unlawful use of a weapon; and Daniel Acosta, 18, 433 Salem Square, for mob action.

Police said a 16-year-old was petitioned to Juvenile Court for charges of mob action and battery.

Four thefts from residences reported

Bolingbrook police reported four thefts to residences between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12 that resulted in the loss of items valued at more than $7,000.

Five spiral Christmas trees, a wreath and wind chimes, items valued at more than $200, were reported taken from a residence in the 800 block of Bonnie Brae Lane after 9 p.m. Dec. 12, police said.

A laptop computer, modem and a leather watch valued at more than $1,750 were reported taken from a residence in the 309 Building of Woodcreek Drive after Nov. 20, police said.

A digital camera valued at more than $300 was reported taken from a locked residence in the 300 block of Stafford Lane after 1:30 p.m. Dec. 6, according to police.

Two gold and diamond ring sets, necklaces, earrings, cuff links, a jewelry box, four tire rims, a 15-inch color television set and other items valued at more than $4,800 were reported taken from a locked residence in the 300 block of Leicester Court after 8 a.m. Dec. 6.

Police report vehicles stolen

A silver 2005 Ford Escape SUV was reported stolen from the 400 block of Standish Court after 1 p.m. Dec. 7, according to police.

Later that same day, at about 7 p.m., a 1992 Chevrolet Beretta was reported stolen from the 200 block of Orchard Drive, police said.

Wheaton man charged with battery

Joseph Sovo, 34, of Wheaton, was charged with battery after police were called to Buffalo Wild Wings, 777 E. Boughton Road, at about 11 p.m. Dec. 6.

Two face drunk driving charges

Sergio Gill, 20, 7741 Fox St., Unit 2-C, Woodridge, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without insurance, driving without a license and improper lane usage after an accident that occurred at about 6 a.m. Dec. 8 near Bolingbrook Drive and Lee Lane, police said.

Heather McMurrin, 32, 153227 S. Sunshine Circle, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage after police made a traffic stop at about 12:15 a.m. Dec. 6 near Ashbury Road and Ashbury Court.
