Car burglarized

Police said a car was burglarized between 6 p.m. July 31 and noon Aug. 3 in the 700 block of 74th Street. Police said a dash mounted navigation system was missing. The loss is estimated at $1,000.

Man charged with felony

Police took a man into custody for driving on a revoked driver’s license at noon Aug. 5 at Speedway gas station, 5004 Fairview Ave.

Police said they were familiar with Darren B. Casalino, 43, 405 Austin St., Downers Grove and knew his driver’s license was revoked when they spotted him pull into the gas station.
Casalino was charged with a felony for aggravated driving while license revoked.

Car reported damaged

Police said a car parked in the 7400 block of Winwood Way was scratched between 9 p.m. Aug. 5 and 7:45 a.m. Aug. 6.

Police said the car’s paint was scratched on both sides from the front doors to the rear. The entire length of the rear hatch was also scratched, police said. The damage is estimated at $500.

Electronics missing

Police said a car was burglarized between 6:15 p.m. Aug. 5 and 9 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 6800 block of Meadowcrest Drive. Police said a navigation system and a camera were missing from the car. The loss is estimated at $335.

DUI alleged

A man was charged with drunken driving after being pulled over at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 7 at Fairview Avenue and 59th Street.

Police said Daniel K. Comerford, 31, 1101 Honeywood Drive, Westmont was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper backing.

Man charged with theft

Police said a man was charged with retail theft after he left Westbrook Market, 2065 63rd St., without paying for merchandise at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 7.

Police said Oleksandr Kharchenko, 29, 6340 Powell St., Downers Grove was seen pushing a shopping cart containing beer, champagne and a package of dry calamari when he exited the store without paying.

Man faces DUI charge

A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 1:45 a.m. Aug. 9 at 75th Street and Fairview Avenue.

Police said Patrick J. Hulme, 36, Darien was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Traffic stop yields arrest

A man was charged with drunken driving after being pulled over at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 900 block of Maple Avenue.

Police said Christopher D. Sampson, 24, 621 Maple Ave., Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

Westmont
Bike stolen after lock cut

Police said a bicycle was reported stolen after the lock was  cut off during the overnight hours of Aug. 13 in the 1000 block of Ashford Lane.
The bike is estimated at  $600, and damage to the lock was valued at $35, police said.

Snack machines damaged

Police said two vending machines were overturned at about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 11 at Twin Lakes Woods Park, 55th and Williams streets. Damage to the machines is estimated at $400.

Golf clubs stolen from car

Police said a set of golf clubs, valued at $500, were taken from a car during the overnight hours of Aug. 10 in the 100 block of North Hudson Street. Police said the car was unlocked at the time of the incident.

Business burglarized

Police said a business was entered after a window was broken during the overnight hours of Aug. 8 in the 700 block of North Pasquinelli Drive. Police did not name the business.

According to police, about $1,000 was taken from the business. The value of the broken window is estimated at $700, police said.
 
Man faces DUI charge

Joseph J. Barren, 22, of Bolingbrook was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol after he was pulled over for a traffic stop at about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 near the intersection of Cass and Ogden avenues, police said.

DUI alleged
Kevin J. Glover, 25, 1020 S. Williams St., Westmont was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 7 in the 1100 block of South Williams Street, police said.

Water pumps stolen

A construction trailer was burglarized between 3 p.m. Aug. 7 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 1000 block of Davey Road, police said. Two water pumps and a cycle pump, together valued at $750, were missing, police said.

Gas theft reported

Police said $39 worth of gas was not paid after a person drove off at about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 at Thornton’s gas station, 2401 Hobson Road, police said.

Laptop, checkbook taken

A laptop computer and checkbook were stolen between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and about 1 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 10000 block of Woodward Avenue, police said. No loss amount was provided by police.

Purse reported stolen

A purse containing a credit card, $6 in cash and an iPod was stolen between 11 p.m. Aug. 7 and about 12:45 p.m. Aug. 8 from a car in the 1500 block of West 75th Street, police said.

DUI charged

Milan Prodanic, 36, 4513 Domoulin Ave., Lisle was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, driving while license suspended, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after being arrested at about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 1500 block of 83rd Street, police said.

GPS, money missing

A global positioning system unit, valued at $140, and $40 in cash and coins were stolen from a vehicle between noon Aug. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5 in the 7000 block of Newport Drive, police said.
