Car burglarized
Police said a car parked at Hooters restaurant, 1303 Butterfield Road, was burglarized between 6 and 9:45 p.m. April 9. Police said a front passenger window was broken and a flat-panel LCD monitor was missing. The damage is estimated at $500 and the loss is about $1,200.

Man charged with theft
Police said a man was charged with a felony retail theft after he attempted to steal beef tenderloins from Jewel grocery store, 6215 Main St., at 2 p.m. April 10.

Police said George E. West, 56, of Hometown, took two whole beef tenderloins and put them in his jacket pockets and left the store without paying.

Police said upon checking his information they learned West had a $50,000 warrant out of Will County for retail theft.

Jewelry reported stolen
Police said an employee at Stardust night club, 1211 Butterfield Road, Suite A, reported that two pieces of jewelry were stolen between 2:30 p.m. April 9 and 11 a.m. April 10. Police said the missing jewelry includes a diamond pinkie ring and a 14K gold watch. The loss is estimated at $12,000.

Two charged with theft
Police said two people were charged with retail theft after they tried to steal items from Dominick’s grocery store, 42 Ogden Ave., at 6 p.m. April 10.

Police said Edem Y. Afflu, 17, 508 N. Cass Ave., Westmont, and Hector A. Perez, 18, Berwyn, were observed by an employee selecting bags of chips from a shelf and putting them in a backpack. Police said the pair then selected some drinks and proceeded through the exit without paying for the items.

Man faces theft charge
Police said a man was charged with retail theft after he tried to steal a bottle of liquor from Dominick’s grocery store, 42 Ogden Ave., at 3:45 p.m. April 10.
Police said Anthony A. Hodges, 35, 4107 Williams St., Downers Grove, was observed taking a bottle of alcohol and placing it in his pants.
Police said Hodges continued to walk through the store and walked past the point of sale without paying.

DUI alleged
A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 3 a.m. April 10 at Main and Sherman streets.

Police said Robert A. Framarin, 25, Lombard, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without headlights, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Two cars burglarized
Police said two cars parked in a lot at 1430 Butterfield Road were burglarized between 10 and 11 p.m. April 10.

Police said both of the car’s driver’s side windows were broken. A digital camera was missing from one car. In the other car, a navigation unit was missing. The total damage is estimated at $300 and the loss is about $550.

Radar detector stolen
Police said a car parked at Hamilton Partners, 3500 Lacey Road, was burglarized between 5:45 and 6:45 p.m. April 13. Police said a driver’s side window was broken and a radar detector was missing. The loss is estimated at $300.

Computer taken from home
Police said a home in the 2100 block of Oxnard Drive was reported burglarized between 7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. April 13. Police said a kitchen window screen was missing and the window was slightly open. Police said a laptop computer was missing. The loss is estimated at $1,500.

Man charged with DUI
A man was charged with drunken driving after being arrested at about 1:15 a.m. April 15 in the 5200 block of Washington Street.
Police said William A. Simms, 28, Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal, no rear registration light and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

Westmont
Assault alleged
Tamara D. Farrell, 18, of the 800 block of South Adams Street, was charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault after police said Farrell allegedly struck a person and brandished a knife. The incident occurred at about 7 p.m. April 9 at the residence, police said.

Minor charged in stabbing
Police said a juvenile was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated battery after he allegedly stabbed a victim in the parking lot after an altercation in the 6700 block of South Alpine Lane. The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. April 8, police said.
Police did not identify the victim, and said the injures were not life-threatening.

Altercation leads to charges
Bradley A. Polanek, 32, of the 500 block of North Grant Street, Westmont, was charged with domestic battery, obstruction of  a peace officer and attempted criminal damage to state supported property. The incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. April 7 at his home, police said.

Robbery reported
Police said a individual reported a robbery that occurred while he was walking along the street at about 6:30 p.m. April 6 along the 0 to 100 block of East Dallas Street.

According to police, the victim stated he was approached by a white male, between the ages of 16 to 20 wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants. The man grabbed the victim’s MP3 music player and ran from the area. Police said the victim was not harmed in the incident.
The value of the stolen MP3 player is $230, police said.

Jewelry taken from home
Police said a home in the 500 block of Richmond Street was burglarized between 5:45 and 8 p.m. April 5. Entry was gained through an unlocked window, and cash, jewelry and a television were reported missing. The missing items were valued at $9,000, police said.

Drug possession alleged
William T. Ward, 22, 49 W. 66th St., Westmont, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested at about 2 p.m. April 4, police said. Police did provide more details on the arrest.

Stereo equipment stolen
A car window was smashed overnight April 3 in the 1000 block of South Williams Street, police said. Stereo equipment and a radar detector were taken from the vehicle. The stolen equipment was valued at $750.

Satellite dish stolen
A satellite dish was taken at about 7:30 a.m. April 8 in the 3300 block of 83rd Street, according to police.

Window damaged
A rear window at Meadowview School, 2525 Mitchell Drive, was shattered at about 5 p.m. April 9, police said. Reports state no sign of forced entry was observed.

Vehicle keyed
A car was keyed at about 9:45 p.m. April 10 in the 6500 block of Route 53, police said.

Man nets DUI
Matthew A. Priebe, of Minnesota, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop at about 2:45 a.m. April 5 in the 8200 block of Lemont Road, police said.
