Woodridge, IL -

I want to let the community know that the village of Woodridge is planning on a business park development south of International Parkway on the west side of Lemont Road. Why should you care? The big reason is because they are planning to extend Davey Road past St. Alphonus/St. Pat’s school as well as many residents’ backyards.

I attended the March 3 Woodridge meeting and almost every person who spoke on the issue had a problem with the placement of the road. We don’t understand why you would put a road 15 feet away from homes as well as right past an elementary school.

They project 2,500 cars and trucks using that road on a daily basis. Couldn’t they move the road to the north side of the property? Sure they could. But Woodridge is banking on a future housing development to go across the street from this business park on the east side of Lemont Road.

Woodridge’s response at the meeting is that they feel the extension of Davey Road is necessary for future development. Well what about the people who live and go to school there now!

They are also planning on a stop light at Davey and Lemont Road. And if you live near this road you are going to have to pay for it. Woodridge has sent a letter saying if you live south of the Davey Road extension through 109th Street on the west side of Lemont Road and some residents on the east they want you to pay for the road and or stoplight. How kind of them to want us to pay for a road and light we don’t want. If you want to make your feelings heard please attend the April 3 village of Woodridge meeting.
