Man gets DUI on tractor
Gregory Trankina, 52, 2097 Inverness Drive, Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped in the 5500 block of Belmont Road while driving a John Deere lawn tractor at 3:15 p.m. Nov. 11, according to reports.
Solicitation charge filed
Wayne Leible, 60, of Missouri was charged with solicitation without permit after being cited at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11 in the 700 block of Grant Street, according to reports.
Police said they saw Leible walking to each residence and knocking on the door. Leible said he was looking to sell people firewood, according to reports.
Diamond necklace stolen
A diamond necklace was taken from a home in the 900 block of Highland Court between 5:15 and 10:55 p.m. Nov. 7, according to reports.
The victim said he saw his bedroom window open when he got home, according to reports. Police said the only room that was disturbed was the bedroom.
A jewelry box on the bed had been rummaged through and change was all over the floor underneath the window, according to reports.
Police said the necklace is valued at $1,200 and $40 was taken from the change jar.
Man arrested on warrants
William Pearce, 51, of Bolingbrook was charged with being a fugitive from justice after being arrested at 3:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Ogden Avenue Nov. 4, according to reports.
Police said Pearce was first seen in the 4300 block of Florence Avenue walking in backyards and left the area in a PT Cruiser. An officer found the vehicle, and Pearce said he was quoting a roofing job, according to reports.
After running his name and information, police said they found he was wanted on a $2,000 bond warrant from Pike County and $25,000 full cash bond warrant in St. Charles County, Mo., according to reports.
Retail theft reported
Jolanta Walas, 46, 5732 Washington St., Downers Grove was charged with retail theft after allegedly switching the price tag on a bottle of tequila, according to reports.
The incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. Nov. 7 in Jewel-Osco, 6215 Main St.
The bottle originally had a $40 price tag and Walas switched it with a $3.50 tag, according to reports. Police said she paid for the items and the tequila but was stopped by the exit doors and brought back to wait for police, according to reports.
Fences damaged in park
A fence in Fishel Park, 1036 Grove St., was intentionally bent and pushed over between 3 p.m. Nov. 6 and 2 p.m. Nov. 9, according to reports. Police said the incident also caused about four fence posts to bend.
GPS, radar dector stolen
A Magellan global positioning system and a radar detector were taken out of a 1999 Oldsmobile between 9 p.m. Nov. 8 and 5:30 a.m. Nov. 9 in the 4200 block of Stanley Avenue, according to reports.
Police said the owner left his car unlocked and when he went to his vehicle in the morning, he noticed the glove box was open and both items, valued at $200, were missing.
GPS taken from vehicle
A global positioning system unit was taken from the dashboard of a Jeep Laredo between 10 p.m. Nov. 9 and 6:50 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 500 block of Davis Street, according to reports.
The owner of the vehicle said he parked in his driveway leaving it unlocked with the windows down, according to reports.
Hunting bow stolen
A Kodiak compound bow and case, a silver dollar, a TomTom global positioning system and binoculars were taken from a car between 8 p.m. Nov. 9 and 8 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 4400 block of Sterling Road, according to reports.
The owner of the 2002 PT Cruiser said his son left the vehicle unlocked. The hunting bow and case were taken from the back seat, the GPS was removed from the glove compartment and the coin was taken from a leather bag in the front seat, according to reports.
Man charged with DUI
Cordell Seryce, 29, of Bolingbrook was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while license suspended after being arrested at about 2:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of Butterfield Road, according to reports.
DUI alleged
Stephen Harap, 39, 2112 Midhurst Road, Downers Grove was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage.
He was pulled over at 59th Street and Belmont Road at 1:30 a.m. Nov. 13, according to reports.
Traffic stop yields arrest
Robert Parsons, 40, of Lombard was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding after being arrested at 12:15 p.m. Nov. 13 at Branding Avenue and Finley Road, according to reports.
Man faces DUI charged
Scott Kite, 25, of Wheaton was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage after being arrested at 1:25 a.m. Nov. 14 at Butterfield Road and Route 53, according to reports.

Bike lock cut at train station
A bicycle was stolen after a lock was cut in a rack at the Westmont train station. The incident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. Nov. 3, police said. The bicycle is valued at $250.
The person who took the bicycle is described as a white man, wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and work boots, police said.
Tools stolen in car burglary
Power tools, valued at $200, were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours Oct. 30 in the 500 block of South Lindley Road, police said.

Items stolen from home
Police said about $7,000 in cash, checkbooks, jewelry and a laptop were removed from a home between 6 and 10:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 9000 block of Somerset Lane.
Grill damaged
Police said a grill was tipped over, damaging it, at about 9:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the 8900 block of Coppergate Road.
Man nets DUI charge
Roger Zgak, 46, of Lisle was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid registration and operating an uninsured vehicle, according to police.
He was pulled over at about 10 p.m. Nov. 7 at Route 53 and Woodridge Drive, police said.
Phone stolen from purse
A cell phone was taken from a patron’s purse at about midnight Nov. 7 at Brunswick Zone, located in the 1555 75th St., police said.
Home burglarized
Jewelry valued at $5,600, a video gaming system and jewelry box were stolen from a home between 9 p.m. Nov. 5 and 6 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 2400 block of Pheasant Lane, police said.
Man charged with DUI
Eric Heth, 49, of Lemont was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane usage. He was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5 following a traffic stop off Bluff Road, police said.
