Rudy and MaryAnna Skul of Downers Grove celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 9, 2008, with their children, neighbors, family and friends. The couple was married Aug. 9, 1958, at St. Patrick’s Church in Rockford, Ill.
Rudy is a retired District 99 teacher who taught for 33 years at both Downers Grove High Schools. He was one of the founding members of the DuPage Schools Credit Union, now the DuPage Credit Union.
MaryAnna taught at O’Neil Junior High and Downers Grove North and retired in 1991. She is an avid seamstress and a member of the Faithful Circle Quilt Guild.
The Skuls have three children, Tom (Lisa) Skul, John (Jeanne) Skul, Suzanne (Tony) Litwinchuk; and eight grandchildren.
