DUI arrests

• Gilardo Allende, 50, 722 Kenwood Ave., was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol at about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4 on West Forest Avenue at Parkside Avenue, police said.

• Samuel Villa, 23, 1244 Kings Circle, was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, no valid driver’s license and illegal transportation of alcohol at 10:30  p.m. Feb. 9, in the 1000 block of Kings Circle, police said.

Domestic battery arrests

• Raul Contreras, 31, 312 Wood St., was arrested for domestic battery and outstanding warrants at about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 8 at his home, police said.

• Jesus Medina, 30, 1029 Oak St., was arrested on a warrant for domestic battery at about 9 p.m. Feb. 8 in the 500 block of Conde Street, police said.

• Michael Coppa, 39, 528 Carriage Drive, was arrested for domestic battery at about 9 p.m. Feb. 11 at his home, police said.

Public drunkenness

Zenon Gomez, 33, 515 Harrison St., was arrested for public drunkenness after police found him walking in the middle of the street at 2:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at Church Street and Parkside Avenue, reports state.

Thefts

• Someone smashed a window and stole $27 in coins and a hammer at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the 200 block of Main Street, police said.

• A credit card was stolen at about 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 300 block of South Neltnor Boulevard, police said.

• About $80 cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle sometime after 3:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 200 block of Fremont Street, police said.

• A wallet, containing identification and credit cards, was stolen from a coat at about 4:15 p.m. Feb. 10 in the 200 block of Main Street, police said.

• A wood dresser and toy box, valued at less than $300, were stolen at about 8 p.m. Feb. 10 from a hallway in the 700 block of Forest Avenue, police said.

• Two chain necklaces of unknown value were stolen sometime after 11 a.m. Jan. 3 from an apartment in the 200 block of North Neltnor Boulevard, police said.

• A stereo, speaker box and a tool box with tools were stolen from a sport utility vehicle between 5 p.m. Feb. 11 and 1:15 p.m. Feb. 12 in the 400 block of Carriage Drive, police said. The driver’s side window was smashed to enter the vehicle, reports state.

• A bank in the 600 block of West Washington Street found a counterfeit $20 bill on deposit at about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14, police said.

Vandalism

• Someone drilled a hole through the gas cap and scratched a vehicle at about 4:45 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 1000 block of South Oak Street, police said. Reports state the break lines on the same vehicle were cut between 10 p.m. Feb. 4 and 5:15 a.m. Feb. 5 police said.

• A house in the 800 block of Joilet Street was egged, and the rear window of a vehicle at the address was smashed at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 9, police said.

• Someone punctured four tires, bent a fender antenna, scratched the hood and poured antifreeze on the front seat of a car between 3 p.m. Feb. 10 and 6 p.m. Feb. 11, in the 800 block of Burr Oaks Drive, police said.

• The windshield and passenger-side front window of a vehicle were damaged at about 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the 1000 block of Kings Cross, police said.

• Someone defaced the Geneva Street tunnel with graffiti between noon Feb. 2 and 3 p.m. Feb. 13, police said.

• Someone defaced the back of Pioneer School, 615 Kenwood Ave., with graffiti at about 6 a.m. Feb. 14, police said.

• Someone spray painted a Community High School dug out at Lyman Street and Brown Street at about 6:30 a.m. Feb. 14, police said.

• Four tires were punctured on a vehicle between 11:45 p.m. Feb. 13 and 7 a.m. Feb. 14, in the 200 block of North Neltnor Boulevard, police said.

• Two buildings in 300 block of Wilson Avenue were spray painted with graffiti at about 2:15 p.m. Feb. 15, police said.

• Someone in a blue Jeep did doughnuts on the baseball fields in the 200 block of National Street Feb. 17, causing an unknown amount of damage to the field, police said.

Train violations

The Union Pacific and Elgin, Joliet and Eastern railroads were sent citations by certified mail for several instances of blocking streets for longer than 10 minutes, police said.

The crossing at Wood Street and Washington Street was blocked at about 2:15 p.m. Feb. 8 and at about 10 a.m. Feb. 17, reports stated. The Elgin, Joliet and Eastern tracks were blocked at Hawthorne Lane at about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 17, police said.

Accidents

• Ricardo Garcia-Montero, 25, 521 Melolane Drive, was arrested for a hit and run accident and no valid drivers license, at about 6:15 p.m. Feb. 11 at Main Street west of Wilson Street, police said. Reports state he drove a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder into a light pole and then left the scene.

• Jose Hernandez-Garcia, 30, 1212 Kings Circle, was arrested for no valid driver’s license, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at about 6:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at Washington Street and Route 38, police said.
