Cable TV’s “Lifetime Television for Women” takes a comic turn in a new show called “Laughtime – Comedy for Women,” now playing at The Comedy Shrine in Naperville. The female TV farce includes sketch and improv parodies of popular women’s programming such as made-for-TV movies, talk shows and commercials.

The show also features “The Best Friends Forever (BFF) Game Show.” Similar in format to the classic “Newlywed Game,” it pits actual audience members against each other — competing for real prizes — to see just how well participants know their best friend.

Performed by the Chick Shtick improv ensemble, “Laughtime – Comedy for Women” is described as an outrageously entertaining ladies night out. No topic is taboo and men are welcome too.

The show can be seen at 8 p.m. Thursdays at The Comedy Shrine, 22 E. Chicago Ave., continuing through the summer. It is suitable for ages 18 and older.
