Two new attractions will be featured at the Save The Prairie Society’s annual Nature Arts and Heritage Faire — the Attic Treasures Sale with items ranging from slightly used to vintage antiques, and an accredited appraiser available to evaluate family heirlooms and personal collection items.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 7, at the Prairie House, 11225 Constitution Drive in Westchester.
The appraiser will arrive at noon and will evaluate items, excluding stamps, coins and guns, for a small fee.
Other features include tours of the 1850s school room at the Prairie House. Outdoors, there will be displays by nature artists, photographers, crafters and The LaGrange Art League Plein Air Painters. Also, a Civil War encampment, fur trader re-enactment and a wool spinning demonstration will take place.
