Several agencies will be conducting a recycling collection from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the north parking lot of Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, Darien.
Old gym shoes and computers and equipment that can be refurbished will be donated to schools, not-for-profit organizations and homes of children at risk. Niketown’s North Michigan Ave. location will be accepting the gym shoes for their recycling program.
The Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO-Chicago), portable storage provider 1-800-PackRat and PC Rebuilders and Recyclers, which operates the Computer in the Schools Foundation, are sponsoring the event.
PC Rebuilders and Recyclers, which will revamp the computers, will eliminate all personal and confidential information for the hard drives to protect the identify and confidentially of the donors.
