Crews are working throughout the area to clean up branches and repair down power lines as a result of Monday night’s storms.
In Addison, crews are working to repair two downed power lines along Addison Road and one on Stone Mill Lane. Traffic is being detoured around those areas, said Megan Freeman, Addison’s public information officer.
“We estimate we had about 1,400 residents without power, although we are not sure how many ... are still without power,” she said.
Residents without power should contact ComEd, she said, and not assume the electric company knows that power is out at a property.
Freeman said some residents along the 1400 block of Tamarac Boulevard reported roof damage from high winds and falling trees.
A tree fell into a home along the 400 block of Sixth Avenue.
All stop lights in Addison are up and running, after several along Lake Street were not out, Freeman said.
In Bensenville, village spokeswoman Linda Dickson said, home owners along Memorial Drive and Baron Street and a business along Evergreen Street all reported damage.
“Right now, we’re trying to asses the power situation to determine where the power is up and running and where it isn’t,” Dickson said.
Wood Dale officials also reported that some areas are without power, and several people did report damage, although it did not appear to be widespread, a police spokeswoman said.
