
Items reported stolen
The owner of a 26-inch, 21-speed bike reported it stolen Oct. 12 from the 600 block of East Harrison Avenue, according to police. The bike was locked to a bike rack and is estimated to be worth $500, according to police. Another locked bike was reported stolen Oct. 13 from the 1000 block of College Avenue. The estimated value of the 26-inch bike is $369, according to reports. The owner of a 21-inch bike reported its lock was cut and the bike stolen from the 200 block of North Washington Street Oct. 14, according to reports. Another locked bike was reported stolen from the 500 block of College Avenue Oct. 15, according to police. The bike was estimated to be worth $250.
A resident reported someone entered his unlocked garage between 8 a.m. Oct. 15 and 1 p.m. Oct. 16 in the 400 block of South Washington Street and took a 12-inch compound miter saw and a 14-volt cordless drill, according to police. The estimated value of the stolen tools is $430.
A resident of the 0 to 100 block of Circle Avenue reported a gas lawn trimmer was stolen from an unlocked shed between Sept. 1 and Oct. 17, according to police. The estimated value of the trimmer is $300.
An employee of President Video in the 200 block of South President Street reported that a man, who appeared to have a handgun, demanded the cashier open the register and give him all the cash available. The cashier complied and handed about $400 in cash to the suspect. The suspect then left on foot and has not been found, according to reports. The offender is described as a young adult black male, about 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds and wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, according to police.
Alcohol charges filed
Police arrested Thomas E. Mihelcic, 53, 1246 Midwest Lane, Wheaton, at about 11:45 p.m. Oct. 17 for speeding and driving under the influence at the intersection of Aurora Way and Roosevelt Road, according to reports.
Ruben R. Quesada, 24, of Cobden, Ill., was arrested at Naperville Road and Route 56 at about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 14 for driving under the influence and improper lane usage, according to reports.
Police arrested Robert J. Lackage, 21, 2279 Hiram Drive, Wheaton, for driving under the influence and improper lane usage at Appleby and Hiram drives at about 1:45 a.m. Oct. 13, according to police.
Donald M. Quinn, 51, of River Grove was arrested at about 1 a.m. Oct. 13 for driving under the influence, improper lane usage and speeding at Butterfield and East Loop roads, according to reports.
Drug charges filed
Police arrested Ben C. Barnes, 19, 2S373 Seneca Drive, Wheaton, for possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, driving while license is suspended and operating an uninsured car at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 13 at West Loop Road and Mozart Court, according to police. Passenger Kyle J. Macary, 18, 2049 Canterbury Drive, Wheaton, also was arrested for possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana, according to reports.
