Armed robbery reported

Two unknown men robbed a White Hen Pantry, 1730 E. Roosevelt Road, at about 2:30 a.m. June 28, according to police. An employee who was working at the time said two men walked into the store wearing masks. One of them was thin and wore a black sweatshirt with white sleeves. The other was heavy and wore a gray sweatshirt, according to reports. The employee went to the counter and the men indicted they were armed and wanted money. The employee opened the cash register and placed all its contents onto the countertop. The two suspects took the money and exited the store on foot. The total amount stolen has not been determined at this time. Officers searched the area but no suspects were located, according to reports.

Retail theft charged

Irene Carrera, 44, of Chicago was arrested at about 11 a.m. June 27 in the 400 block of North Chase Street for retail theft, according to police reports.

DUI charges filed

Police arrested James J. Nahulak, 44, of Wheaton (no address was given) for driving under the influence and speeding, according to police. Nahulak was arrested at the intersection of Cromwell and Dorset Drives at about 2 a.m. June 25.

Battery alleged

Aleksandr Diadiouchtchenko, 41, 1333 S. Lorraine Drive, Unit 308, was arrested at about 10:15 p.m. June 24 at the intersection of Butterfield and West Loop roads for two counts of aggravated battery, resisting an officer, driving under the influence, operating an uninsured vehicle and illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor, according to police.

Mailboxes damaged

At 10 a.m. June 23 a police officer was en route to investigate a complaint about a mailbox that had been damaged by an unknown person during the night, according to reports. On the way the officer noticed numerous mailboxes had been damaged in the area. A total of 12 mailboxes were struck by an unknown object. The mailboxes are located in the 1900 and 2000 block of Middleton Drive, the 1900 and 2000 block of Chatham Drive and the 2000 block of Gladstone Drive, according to police reports. The estimated cost of each damaged mailbox is $50.

Tobacco products stolen

A resident in the 400 block of East Madison Street reported that between June 11 and June 27 someone entered his unlocked garage and stole cigarettes stored there, according to reports. The resident has a consulting business dealing with tobacco products. Stolen items included 45 cartons of Camel cigarettes estimated to be worth $1,980, 60 cartons of Kool cigarettes worth $2,640 and 225 lighters estimated to be worth $675, according to police.

Retail theft charges filed

Police arrested Rosemary Ciesielski, 51, of Naperville for retail theft at 11 Rice Lake Square at about 2:15 p.m. June 23, according to police.

DUI alleged

Alexander J. Krukoff, 18, of St. Charles was arrested June 22 at about 12:30 a.m. for driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, speeding and failing to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle, according to police reports. Krukoff was arrested at the intersection of County Farm and Roosevelt roads.

DUI charges filed

Police arrested Omar Mendoza, 21, of Chicago at about 4:45 a.m. July 1 at the intersection of Butterfield and East Loop roads for driving under the influence, operating an uninsured vehicle, no driver’s license, illegal parking and illegal squealing of tires, according to police.

Teen charged with DUI

Patrick J. Bannon, 19, of Crest Hill was arrested at about 12:30 a.m. June 30 at the intersection of Elm Street and Gamon Road for driving under the influence, operating an uninsured vehicle and illegal consumption of alcohol by a person under 21, according to police.

DUI charges filed

Police arrested Jesus Munoz, 28, of West Chicago at about 2 a.m. June 30 at the intersection of Butterfield Road and Cromwell Drive for driving under the influence, no valid driver’s license and improper lane usage, according to reports.

Car damaged

The owner of a 2003 Infinity G35 reported to police that between 7:30 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. June 29 while his car was parked at Municipal Parking Lot No. 7 at 1214 E. Crescent St., someone broke the front and passenger side windows and scratched the driver’s door and trunk lid. The rear side window was also scratched, possibly by rocks that had been thrown at it, according to police. There had been no attempt to enter the car and nothing was taken, according to reports.

The cost of the damage is estimated at $2,000.

Car window broken

The owner of a 2002 Hyundai reported that between 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. June 28, someone broke the rear window of her car. The damage was apparently caused with a BB, according to police. Estimated cost of the damage is $300.

DUI charges filed

William H. Englehart, 26, 1955 Richton Drive, was arrested at about 9 p.m. June 28 at the intersection of Butterfield and West Loop roads for driving under the influence, driving too fast for conditions and illegal transport of alcoholic liquor, according to police.
