The last day that the City of Wheaton will collect old electronics for recycling purposes will be Dec. 5.

According to the city, because the Illinois Electronics Products Recycling and Reuse Act will require electronics manufacturers and retailers to recycle electronic waste for consumers, the company that had been recycling electronics during recycling events can no longer do so.

The final recycling event for used electronics is Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. until noon at the city's Public Works Storage Facility, located at 821 W. Liberty Drive.

Resident can also bring their electronics for recycling to Sims Recycling Solutions, 1750 Harvester Road, West Chicago, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
