Members of the Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education met again behind closed doors, Wednesday night, only to return and postpone a series of mysterious talks
for a fourth night.
The board has not said why the talks are taking place, and agendas have said only that the meetings are for a "Closed session on appointment, employment or dismissal of an employee."
Speculation has circled among parents and district staff that the meetings have something to do with district Superintendent Richard Drury, who has been on vacation since Sept. 21. Board President Andrew Johnson said Tuesday that Drury is still the district's superintendent.
The board met for several hours Tuesday night, and for a short time before Wednesday night's regular board meeting.
The district's director of communications, Robert Rammer, said Wednesday that the district will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the district's headquarters on Thursday to continue its ongoing closed session meetings.
