Saxophonist Marsalis, Brazilian orchestra to play in Wheaton

The Artist Series at Wheaton College will present renowned soprano saxophonist Branford Marsalis,  joining the Filharmonia Brasileira in a performance conducted by Gil Jardim  at 8 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 24, in Pierce Memorial Chapel, southeast corner of Washington and Franklin streets.

Marsalis will solo throughout most of the evening in a program including works of Brazil’s national musical hero Heitor Villa-Lobos and France’s jazz-influenced genius, Darius Milhaud.

Ticket prices range from $31 to $48 for general admission with discounts for students and seniors older than 60. For more information, or to order tickets, call the Ticket and Information Office at (630) 752.5010. Online orders may be placed at www.artistseries.org through Wednesday, Oct. 22.
