WESTMONT – In spite of a strong offensive output, the Westmont boys basketball team returned empty-handed from the Ridgewood Battle at the Ridge Thanksgiving tournament.
The high school football season wrapped up with state championship games over the weekend, and now the Suburban Life honors the cream of the crop from Benet, Bolingbrook, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, Hinsdale Central, Hinsdale South, Lemont, Lisle and Westmont for their performances this season.
The U17 Elite Black girls team from United Soccer Academy in Oak Brook competed in the annual premier Midwest SLSG Girls Fall Classic and College Showcase in St. Louis in early November.
WESTMONT – The Westmont boys basketball team can hear the chatter resonating from opposing coaches and players and some media outlets.
WESTMONT – What the Westmont girls basketball team lacks in size, it more than makes up for in speed and tenacity. With only two returning starters from last season’s 19-11 squad, the Sentinels juggled their roster, retooling with a smaller, guard-heavy lineup.
With one of the best girls volleyball programs in the state, Benet continues to produce all-area nominations. But the talent is abundant on the South team, as Bolingbrook, Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, Hinsdale Central, HInsdale South, Lemont and Lisle and Westmont are also represented.
WESTMONT – This season for Westmont’s girls volleyball team was defined by grittiness and perseverance. A year after a postseason trip to sectionals, the Sentinels battled through one of the more rigorous schedules in the Interstate Eight Conference, playing several Class 3A and 4A schools during a grueling regular season schedule.
