A fire broke that out at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the 7300 block of Winthrop Way injured two women that were taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, according to reports.

The Darien-Woodridge Fire District responded to the blaze at the townhome in unincorporated Downers Grove Township. Fire officials said while firefighters were extinguishing the fire, a search team found a semi-conscious woman on the second floor and another woman located in the basement.

Investigators said the fire was caused by food left cooking on the stove. Damage is pegged at $5,000.

The Fire District was assisted by Downers Grove and Westmont fire departments, according to reports.
