Police issue trick-or-treating guidelines

The Downers Grove Police Department has issued trick-or-treating guidelines for Halloween, indicating candy collecting hours should begin no earlier than noon and end when daylight hours end.
Police suggest trick-or-treaters should go with their parents or in groups, wear light colored clothing, carry a flashlight after dark and stay on sidewalks and never walk in the street.
Children should accept treats that are wrapped and sealed and have their parents check the candy before eating.
Curfew for anyone under 17 years old is midnight Friday and Saturday.
