Local winners of a Congressional art competition will be announced at an awards ceremony led by U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert, R-13th District, of Hinsdale, from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Westmont library, 428 N. Cass Ave.
Three works of art submitted from 13th Congressional District high school student will be chosen as winners of the 2008 “An Artistic Discovery” Congressional Art Competition.
The first-place selection in the nationwide contest will be hung in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol for one year.
The competition, launched in 1982, is a way for members of Congress to showcase the artistic talents of high schoolers in their districts.
