Westmont collapsed garage investigation closed

The Westmont Police Department has closed its investigation into the garage collapse May 23 that killed a Downers Grove man, according to a press release Thursday.
On June 25, the homeowner whose garage collapsed, David W. Stark, Jr., 41, was found guilty of a Westmont village ordinance violation and fined $75 for failure to obtain a permit to demolish the garage, the report said.
The investigation was closed following the issuance of the citation and the DuPage County coroner’s office’s determination that Dino Turco, 45, died of massive head injuries. His death was ruled an accident.
The garage, located at 317 S. Lincoln Ave., Westmont, collapsed while Turco and other workers were demolishing it.
