Members of the Fratelanza, or the "brotherhood," shoulder the platform that holds an image of the Madonna on Sunday, carrying the heavy load for short distances between breaks. The 108th Maria SS. Lauretana Feast returned to Berwyn over the Labor Day weekend marking what is believed to be the birthday of the Virgin Mary.

Thousands of worshippers from across the country descended upon Berwyn for Labor Day weekend and the 108th annual Maria SS. Lauretana religious feast. The Procession of the Madonna and the Flight of the Angels were part of the activities on Sunday.
On Monday night, two employees working at a booth at The Feast of Maria SS Lauretana Italian-Sicilian Religious Festival suffered serious burns after several propane tanks caught fire.
